A New Home Designed Around Them - Woburn Sands
The Brief
Our clients first approached us through social media. They had a plot in Woburn Sands with an existing planning permission for a new home, but the approved design simply wasn’t right for them.
They wanted to create a home that better reflected how they wanted to live, while remaining realistic about their budget and what could be achieved from a planning perspective.
There was also some uncertainty around the status of the existing planning permission and whether it remained valid, so before looking at a new design, we helped them understand their position and the best route forward.
Our Approach
We worked closely with the clients to develop a completely new design, starting not with what had previously been approved, but with their lifestyle, priorities and budget.
As with all of our homes, the design process was about much more than appearance. We considered how they wanted to use the house day to day, the spaces that mattered most to them and how we could create a home that felt personal to them while responding appropriately to the site and planning context.
Alongside the design work, we guided them through the planning process, taking away much of the uncertainty and helping them navigate each stage.
The Result
Planning permission was successfully secured for their new home, allowing them to move forward with a design that felt like their house, rather than simply building out an existing permission that didn’t suit them.
But our involvement didn’t have to end with planning.
We introduced the clients to a trusted builder we have worked with and would highly recommend, and the project has now progressed into the construction phase.
We continue to provide consultancy and support throughout the build whenever the clients need us - helping with decisions, answering questions and providing continuity between the original design intent and what is happening on site.
